Shoshin.01
LONGEVITY - Bend it. Don't Break it.
A series of workshops that work off of Shoshin. The Zen Japaneses Buddhist word for the beginners mind. There is a concept in Zen Buddhism known as shoshin, which means “beginner's mind.” Shoshin refers to the idea of letting go of your preconceptions and having an attitude of openness when studying a subject. When you are a true beginner, your mind is empty and open. Shoshin refers to adopting a mindset of humility and curiosity when approaching a subject — even if one is already at an advanced level.
‘No one has truly mastered movement until it can be used in a multitude of ways'.
‘Notice how the stiffest tree is easily cracked. Where as the bamboo and willow bends easily with the wind’
- Bruce Lee.

In a world where comfort has taken over our ability to use our bodies to think, react & play we wait until we are broken to do something about it. But what if we stopped focusing on changing what we already have, rather than appreciating what we can achieve just as we are.
Moving from a place of Shoshin; the zen Japanese Buddhist word for the beginners mind. A belief we are always in a constant state of learning. This workshop will offer you a new approach and wider perspective to the way you move and think about your practice. You will be offered tools to help build a strong spine, and a body and mind that bends easily with the wind through igniting the intelligence of the human body.
We will explore diverse movement patterns that will help you discover the child within while breaking through habitual patterns. You will be reconnected back to the ways our bodies have always been designed to move.
Throughout this workshop you will begin to build a flexible and resilient body and mind by exploring ways of moving that allow you to be reactive, impulsive, playful and diverse. By challenging the body we are challenging the mind. All can be translated into your everyday lives in helping us embrace chaos and grow stronger with randomness.
Expect to have the physical and metal capacity of your being widened, strengthened, stretched, opened and educated. This workshop guarantees to be fun, educational & progressive.
